EHS Specialist

**Job Summary**:
- To implement, maintain and improve an efficient EHS operational support and be responsible for EHS performance of MBS Malaysia and MBS Singapore, including EHS Requirements, Crisis Management, Transport Distribution Safety, Chemical Regulations and Trade Control.
- To ensure compliance with relevant legal & other requirements.
**Responsibilities**:
**Implementation of EHS Management system**
1. Implements, maintains & improves the EHS management systems effectively (including third party warehouse, transporters or toll blender, wherever applicable) in accordance to corporate & local requirements
2. Collaborates with relevant parties for implementation & improvement at work processes / areas to meet defined EHS standards including MBS Corporate & country EHS requirements, Occupational Health & Safety, Crisis Management, Transport Distribution Safety, Chemical Regulations & Trade Control
**Regulatory & Other Requirements’ Compliance**
1. Maintains & updates legal registers, including Evaluation of Compliance, EASI, HIRARC
2. Fulfills EHS internal & external reports for MBSM and MBSS, e.g. environment surveillance reports, hazardous waste reports, incident reports, chemical inventory reports
3. Plans/ implements EHS requirements from local authorities, e.g. fire drill, emergency response, occupational health & safety, environment protection
4. Explores local regulations on chemicals and assists to update Trade Control, GHS & MSDS practices to meet compliance
**EHS Operational Control**
1. Supports audit, coordinates for identifying risks & aspects, hazard inherent, unsafe behaviors in existing & future operational process
2. Implements counter measures; corrective & preventive actions to eliminate injuries, pollution, damages & losses related to defined hazards/impacts
3. Support sites to ensure corrective implementation of Permit-To-Works (PTW)
4. Coordinates & support Management of Change (MOC) implementation (scheduling & closure tracking)
5. Prepares & assist in committee meeting (e.g. SHC, EPMC, ERCMC, ERT, CIMT)
6. Assist in EHS yearly monitoring schedule & arrangement (LEV, Stack, Noise, CHRA, CEM, Medical Surveillance, etc.), arrangement of EHS equipment calibration (SCBA, Gas Detector), compilation & communication to stakeholders
7. Controls of PPEs, first aid & spill kit supplies including stock & purchases
8. Manages & coordinates the scheduled waste inventory, handling, disposal & management
9. Coordinates to follow-up the implementation of relevant EHS corrective and/or preventive actions with related internal / external stakeholders via incident reporting system
**Transportation and Distribution Safety (TDS)**
1. Provide advices & consultations to respected stakeholders as site TDS advisor
2. Collaborates with responsible people to implement TDS minimum requirements
**Global Harmonized System (GHS), Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), Trade Control**
1. Implements GHS, ensure the Trade Control policy as per local and international chemical regulations
2. Controls MSDS & label for our products (OMP & MER) following MBS corporate guidelines
**Emergency Response and Crisis Management**
1. Coordinates & supports to establish and build up competencies & readiness to deal with on/off site emergency events
2. Plans & coordinates simulated drill based on corporate & country requirements, supports crisis management
**Experience**:
- Working experience of at least 5 years’ experience in EHS scope & preferably in chemical manufacturing industry
**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant Environment, Occupational Health or Safety, or Chemical Engineering field
- Required skill: Computer skill, good interpersonal skill
- Required language (s): Bahasa and English
**Technical & Professional Knowledge**
- Technical sound EHS knowledge with EHS regulations & chemical laws
- Knowledge on international standards ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO 9001
- Key competencies required: Striving for achievement; Customer focus; Communication & interpersonal understanding
- Competent person as CePSWaM and SHO in Malaysia
