The Challenge

As a Backend Game Developer at LiquidX, you will play a crucial role in shaping the backbone of our exciting new MOBA game. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing robust server architectures that ensure seamless gameplay experiences for our users. Expect to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions that push the boundaries of multiplayer gaming.

**What you Can Expect to Work On**:

- Design and Implementation: Develop and maintain backend systems for our MOBA game, focusing on server architecture, database management, and gameplay mechanics.
- Networking and Multiplayer Functionality: Implement robust networking solutions to ensure smooth real-time interactions and game state synchronization for players.
- Iterate Rapidly on Build Cycles: Work through sprints to write clean, efficient code while keeping future roadmaps in mind.
- Align Across Departments: Collaborate with game designers, frontend developers, and product managers to ensure cohesive development across concurrent build phases.
- Maintain High Standards for Code: Balance trade-offs such as speed, security, and scalability during development to ensure a high-quality product.

**Requirements**:
**What You Need to Succeed**:

- Relevant Experience: Have 5+ years as a Software Engineer in a product-based environment, preferably in gaming. Experience developing MOBA games is a nice to have.
- Technologies: Proficiency with the following technologies:

- Unreal Engine (C++ and Blueprints)
- HTTP/REST API Integration
- JSON Parsing and Serialization in Unreal
- API Authentication and Security (OAuth/JWT Implementation, Encryption Protocols like SSL/TLS)
- AWS services such as Gamelift and Flexmatch
- Version Control and Collaboration Tools
- Communication: Strong communication skills to align with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Team Player: A desire to take ownership of projects and collaborate with a highly driven team.
