Rice Trader

The incumbent will be responsible for buying and selling rice as a commodity, covering APAC, Southern Asia and Middle East.

**Your key responsibilities**:

- Market Analysis: The Rice Trader will conduct market analysis to understand the demand and supply patterns, forecast stocks and sales, market pricing, and manage risk.
- Trading: The Rice Trader will execute profitable trades for rice across the region, and support the broader Group.
- Relationship Management: The Rice Trader will develop and expand the existing customer base within the Asia Pacific, Southern Asia and Middle East, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Information Gathering: The Rice Trader will liaise with other offices and traders across the regions, keep regular contact with other market participants (Millers, Exporters, Traders, brokers) in the region, keep on top of and report trade flows, and maintain a production and surplus/deficit database.
- Operations Liaison: The Rice Trader will liaise with the respective departments finance, supply chain and operations team to ensure smooth execution of shipments and monitor the timeliness of payments.
- The Rice Trader role requires a good understanding of the rice market, strong commercial acumen, and excellent negotiation skills.

What we need from you:

- Commerce graduate
- Greater than 5 years’ experience as a rice trader
- Ability to travel
- Well developed commercial and financial skill sets
- Well-articulated
- Excellent negotiation skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
