School Nurse

SCHEDULE:

- On-site from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 3:15pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

- Oversee the First Aid Clinic to provide a clinically effective, high quality service of nursing care to school and first aid to all members of the community.
- Assess, evaluate and implement care for pupils who seeks the Health Team.
- Work closely with Supervisor to determine the best way to respond to calls based on the school's priority system.
- Ensure that individual care plans are developed, written, and updated for students and made available to staff on a "need to know" basis.
- Ensure smooth operation of the First Aid Clinic including replenishing stocks of all school first aid kits regularly and clinical waste management.
- Respond to and handle emergency calls such as falls, burns, and allergy reactions and assess student/staff condition and make critical care decision in a timely manner.
- Provide emergency care for injured students who are being moved from an active injury scene to the hospital.
- Initiate quality improvement activity to identify causes of accidents and provide action plans to avoid future similar accidents.
- Provide confidential counseling of health advice services as appropriate.
- Need to possess excellent client service skills and always put service to students above all
- To plan and schedule health talks session for students and parents through physical gathering or via virtual sessions.
- To nurse, care, consult and maintain communication with parents, teachers, and administrators on affected students.
- To nurse students who need medical attention in school.
- To make reports on every medical issue encountered.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Mandatory registered with Nursing Board.
- Minimum 4 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in accident and emergency department.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to obtain within first 6 months of hire.
- Good command in English, preferably additional Asia language such as Chinese, Japanese, or Korean.
- Willing to work under pressure which may be present in this work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
- Good organizational skills to maintain good working environment for all staff and teachers.
- Thorough understanding on students psychological needs.
- Ability to give good advice and counsel the students/clients.
- Ability to express sympathy and empathy towards the students/clients.
- Must have own transportation.

Expected start date: August 12, 2024

**Salary**: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
