Magicell Sdn Bhd., a leading telecommunications company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Telco Safety Officer to join our team. As a Telco Safety Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive safety program that ensures the well-being of our employees, contractors, and customers. This is a key role in ensuring that our operations comply with safety regulations and industry best practices. Responsibilities: 1. Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to the telco industry, ensuring compliance with local, national, and industry safety regulations. 2. Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments of network infrastructure, tower sites and other operational areas to identify potential hazards and implement 3. appropriate control measures. 3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety, providing safety training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and vendors. 4. Ensure that all telecom equipment installations, maintenance, and repairs are carried out safely and in accordance with established safety standards. 5. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. 6. Monitor safety performance indicators, analyze trends, and implement proactive measures to continuously improve safety standards. 7. Conduct emergency response drills and exercises to test and enhance preparedness, including coordination with local emergency services, if necessary. 8. Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, safety training documentation, equipment inspections, and audits. 9. Keep up-to-date with evolving safety regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices in the telco sector and implement necessary changes to the safety program. 10. Collaborate with external safety agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to stay informed about emerging safety issues and benchmark safety performance. Requirements: 1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field. 2. At least 1 year of work experience as a Safety Officer or in a safety-related role within the telecommunications industry or any other industry. But, Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply. 3. Thorough understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices specific to the telco industry, such as those related to tower climbing, RF exposure, electrical safety, and working at heights. 4. Strong knowledge of telecom equipment, installations, maintenance, and repair processes. 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels of the organization. 7. Proficiency in conducting hazard assessments, risk analyses, incident investigations, and developing safety procedures. 8. Familiarity with safety management systems and software used in the telco industry. 9. Relevant certifications such as WAH, CIDB, TM NIOSH equivalent. 10. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks. 11. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate safety records and reports.
