Attain and accomplish COMPANY’ objective of safe, efficient and cost-effective operations in COMPANY Group of Companies by providing quality marine expertise and ensure continuous enforcement of the PETRONAS Technical Standard (PTS), maritime policies, procedures and guidelines on proper control and utilization of the vessels by conducting ship screening, vetting inspection and audit as requested by clients.
Plan, manage and conduct annual scheduling inspection of the ship to appraise its operational, maintenance, HSSE aspects and manning conditions and capabilities.
Evaluate, determine and analyse the inspection observation to recommend on the suitability of the vessels for COMPANY use and to ensure its compliance with International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Rules and Regulations, and COMPANY technical standards.
Responsible to conduct screening through analysing vessels information system (VIS) and another database on Port State Control (PSC), Classification Society (Class) and OCIMF to recommend suitability of vessel for use.
Maintain and update vessels’ database where all ships profile information is captured and stored for reference.
Conduct a performance audit on term chartered vessels and provide audit reports to PETRONAS internal customers such as PDB, PETCO, MLNG and etc.
Responsible to develop inspection, audit execution plans, and communicate with ship owners/operators/managers to ensure smooth and efficient work execution without operational interruption.
Advise and recommend corrective actions/solutions to Management and Client on any non-conformance on the inspection findings for mitigation by preparing observation reports for ship owners/operators/managers.
Monitor, review and update ship vetting manuals to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015
Provide expert advice on ship regulatory requirements, best practice and operating procedures to internal and external customers.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Posses valid Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 either as Master Mariner or Chief Engineer.
Having minimum sea time at senior officer position of not less than 24 months (2 years) on tanker vessels.
Having SIRE accreditation, past experience or exposure as a marine inspector is an added advantage.
