Shadow Aide

AIS International School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shadow Aide to support a student with special needs in a mainstream educational setting. The Shadow Aide will work closely with the classroom teacher to facilitate the student's learning, ensure their safety, and foster their social integration.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one support to a student with special needs.
- Assist with classroom activities, including academic tasks, social interactions, and physical activities.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Monitor and document the student's progress and behavior.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and special education staff about the student's development and needs.
- Ensure the student's safety and well-being at all times.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the student's unique needs.
- Promote social integration with peers.
- Provide personal care assistance, if required.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Prior experience working with children with special needs is highly desirable.
- Understanding of special education principles and practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Physical capability to assist the student with mobility, if necessary.

- Monday to Friday

- Kuala Lumpur: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
