Graduate Trainee

Responsibilities include providing assistance to the QS Manager and Quantity Surveyors in handling contractual documents prepared by Consultants and Contractors. Specific tasks are as follows:

- 1. Conduct arithmetical checks for all documents prepared by the consultant, such as Monthly Financial Statements, Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs), Variation Orders (VOs), Final Accounts, Loss and Expense claims, etc. 2. Assist in verifying and reviewing draft Contract Documents prepared by the consultant before submission to the Contract Department. 3. Review and verify calculations performed by the Consultant for re-measurement of quantities based on endorsed as-built drawings. 4. Support the review and preparation of contractual documents and letters drafted by the Consultant. 5. Attend meetings and joint site valuations as and when required by the Superior. 6. Keep track of and assist in updating the Extension of Time (EOT) and Variation Order (VO) reports. 7. Monitor incoming and outgoing contractual documents and remind the QS Manager/QS to meet the Line of Sight (LOS)/Service Level Agreement (SLA). Follow up and ensure timely actions are taken. 8. Perform any other job-related duties as instructed by the Management and/or immediate Superior from time to time.

PAAB forms part of the Government’s efforts to restructure the water services industry in the country to achieve better efficiency and quality, as well as to ensure sustainability of the industry. Our main responsibility is to develop the nation’s water infrastructure in Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan, using competitive financing sourced and obtained from private financial market. The water assets are then leased to water operators licensed by the industry regulator, Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) for operations and maintenance.
