Upstack Studio is a product development agency founded in 2017 to help non-technical entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality. Our team is focused on building impactful web & mobile apps that help improve the lives of people around the world.

We're looking for a Full-Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team on a part-time/contract basis to help us build and maintain performant web apps in 2024 and beyond.

**About the Role**

Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player is required. You’ll need to be a self-starter and extremely proactive, and you’re comfortable and excited by the prospect of working towards our team’s and your own targets relatively autonomously.

We don’t expect you to be an expert in all areas of web development, we just ask that you bring enthusiasm and have an innate eagerness to learn about the areas you don’t have existing experience in.

**Your responsibilities**:
You’ll support on a number of initiatives, including...
- Practice writing clean and maintainable codes according to best practices
- Contribute to an agile team that solves complex challenges and builds quality software
- Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and preferences.

**Requirements**:

- Malaysian citizen
- Knowledge in: Ruby on Rails, Ruby, Rspec, Capybara, TDD, Haml, Sass, Javascript, Git, REST API
- Experience with React.js & React Native is a plus
- Good communication skills and a strong command of spoken and written English
- Appreciate great design and craftsmanship
- Able to see from the client's perspective and give apt suggestions on how to improve products
