Ot Technician

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Registered with Nursing board Malaysia
- Valid APC
- Knowledgeable and strong believer in quality improvement activities, OSH and Infection control standards
- Willingness to work after office hours/weekends/public holidays

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Equipment Preparation: Setting up the operating room by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile, functional, and readily available for the surgical procedure.

2. Sterilization and Sterile Techniques: Following proper sterilization techniques to maintain a sterile environment in the operating room. This includes sterilizing surgical instruments, preparing sterile drapes, and ensuring aseptic practices are followed.

3. Surgical Assistance: Assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses during surgical procedures. This can involve passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, holding retractors, suctioning, and operating various equipment, such as surgical lights and cameras.

5. Infection Control: Adhering to strict infection control protocols to minimize the risk of surgical site infections. This includes maintaining a clean and sterile environment, disposing of waste properly, and following standard precautions.

6. Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring the proper cleaning, maintenance, and functioning of surgical equipment and instruments. This may involve troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating repairs when necessary.

7. Preoperative Care: Assessing patients' preoperative health status, reviewing medical histories, and verifying consent forms. Administering medications as prescribed by physicians, and ensuring patients are prepared physically and emotionally for surgery.

8. Intraoperative Care: Assisting the surgical team in the operating room by providing patient monitoring, administering medications, managing intravenous lines, and assisting with anesthesia administration if needed. They also collaborate closely with the surgeon and anesthesiologist to ensure patient safety and well-being during the procedure.

9. Postoperative Care: Monitoring patients' vital signs, assessing their postoperative recovery, and managing pain. They provide wound care, administer medications, and assist with patient mobilization and comfort. They also educate patients and their families about postoperative care instructions and potential complications to watch for.

10. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patients' surgical procedures, anesthesia administration, and postoperative care. They communicate with the healthcare team, documenting any changes in patients' conditions and reporting relevant information promptly.

**Salary**: RM2,800.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
