The Hotel Lifeguard is responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of all guests in the swimming pool area by preventing and responding to emergencies. This role involves monitoring activities, enforcing rules, providing rescue and first aid services, and maintaining cleanliness and order in the pool area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor guests in and around the pool area to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
- Enforce all pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment.
- Perform lifesaving procedures such as CPR, artificial respiration, and other first aid techniques as necessary.
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Inspect the pool area, safety equipment, and water quality to ensure they meet safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and order around the pool area, including organizing chairs, umbrellas, and ensuring the pool deck is free of hazards.
- Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
- Greet guests and provide information about pool rules, schedules, and services.
- Assist guests with any questions or concerns, ensuring a positive experience.
- Participate in regular training sessions to maintain and enhance lifesaving skills and certifications.
- Stay informed about hotel policies and procedures, as well as updates to safety standards.
Certifications:
- Current lifeguard certification from a recognized organization
- CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency situations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience as a lifeguard is preferred, particularly in a hotel or resort setting.
- Customer service experience is an asset.
