Job Overview

An Audio-Visual Technician sets up, tests, operates, assesses, and troubleshoots equipment required for any corporate event, such as video conferences, and townhall meetings.

These individuals work with projectors, TV displays, sound systems, microphones, sound mixing equipment, video cameras, adjust amplifiers, video screens, speakers, and lighting.

AV Technician

**Responsibilities**:
While an AV Technician’s day-to-day duties and responsibilities are determined by where they work, there are many core tasks associated with the role, these includes:

- Set up Audio Visual Equipment

The primary job of AV Technician is to set up and install media equipment such as LCD projectors, speakers, TVs, video conferencing equipment, cameras, etc. They also set up additional support AV tools like equipment racks, complete electrical wiring, and/or programming.
- Operate and Troubleshoot Sound and Video

A key duty of AV Technician is to execute a flawless event. The most successful technicians problem-solves and handle equipment malfunctions well, even under pressure. They focus on making sure their systems are working properly. When something goes wrong, AV technicians troubleshoot without showing concern to the client.
- Conduct Quality Control Analysis

AV Technicians skilfully run video, audio, and signal testing. Their responsibility is to guarantee their clients a high-quality experience. Technicians ensure all connected systems operate at peak performance. When issues arise, they troubleshoot and adjust the AV system as required. AV Technicians use objective analysis to spot issues and eliminate them before an event.
- Electronic Equipment Maintenance

Performing electronic repair, installation, and maintenance is the job of AV Technicians. They learn how to understand Ohm’s law and use meters to measure signal output. Their job requires constant hands-on tinkering with technology to stay on top of the latest technology models. AV Technicians clean and maintain equipment and are tasked with reporting damages to their superiors.

AV Technician Skills and Qualifications

AV Technicians are enthusiastic individuals who can follow instructions and work well with a team while installing video and audio systems. While most employers prefer a minimum of one year’s experience working with audio visual equipment, we welcome fresh graduates who has an interest in AV. Ideal AV Technicians should possess the following abilities:
Computer skills - working with various computer technology is a necessity for audio visual professionals

Troubleshooting - AV Technicians troubleshoot all equipment issues in a timely manner. Successful technicians strive to exceed expectations

Physical fitness - it is common for technicians to lift 50 to 80 pounds individually, Furthermore, standing, walking, climbing ladders, and navigating tight spaces is a common requirement for AV Technicians

Customer service - interfacing with customers and guests on-site to make sure their desires are met and that equipment is functioning is a major responsibility of these technicians

Organization skills - being organized is a requirement for AV Technicians due to the tools, wiring, cables, and parts that they must methodically sort and install

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
