Qc Technician

**Role Purpose**:

- To perform routine sampling & testing on finished products (Canning & Sachet Lines) and microbiological testing related activities according to Quality Plan to ensure product quality and food safety.
- To fulfil Food Safety objectives and perform Good Laboratory Practise, which include proper cleaning & maintenance of all lab equipment.
- To carry out other supportive activities assigned by superior.

**Key Accountabilities**:
**Finished Products (Canning & Sachet Lines)**
- To perform on-line sampling, inspection and testing of finished products according to Quality Plans & GPIL requirement.
- Responsible to collect & send samples for external lab testing, which include routine micro testing & verification testing, ie blending chemical, homogeneity, NIP & shelf life monitoring.
- To perform verification on CCP/ OPRP records & report to superior if any deviation found.
- Responsible to check product coding compliance during start-up, product change over & every Start, Mid & End per Process Order.
- To collect retention samples according to Quality Plan & WI & responsible to arrange & record retention samples for temporary storage before sending to DHL to ensure easy retrieval.
- To perform 7 days Oxygen (for can & sachet products) & leak tests (for sachet products).
- Responsible for proper recording of all in-process & finished product test results and attach all relevant records for superior verification.
- To ensure all relevant physical & chemical test results are keyed in into SAP system in timely manner
- To liaise with production personnel to stop line for rectification (if deemed necessary) should there be any out-of-spec situations during inspection & lab testing.
- To hold/ reject non-conforming packaging/ raw material & finished goods according to superior’s advice.
- Responsible to carry out additional sampling and/or testing on non-conforming products as advised by superior.
- Responsible to carry out lab & retention rooms housekeeping to ensure cleanliness are well maintained.
- To verify weekend cleaning in all production lines via ATP swab, whose results must be clearly recorded & submitted on time for verification.
- To liaise with production personnel should there be any areas that do not meet hygiene standards.
- Responsible for sample pre-registration in Virtual Lab prior to sample sending to AQS.

**Customer Complaint**
- To retrieve & collect retention sample from the affected batch for investigation.
- Assist in complaint investigation & lab analysis.
- To send complaint sample to external party (eg Rentokil, AQS, etc) if deemed necessary as per superior’s instruction.
- To fill up complaint investigation form with the related test results.

**Equipment Maintenance & Chemical Preparation**
- Proper cleaning & maintenance of lab equipment as per maintenance schedule to ensure the equipment is functioning at its highest accuracy. Highlight to superior if any damaged/ faulty equipment found.
- Responsible for chemical preparation for auto-titrator according to WI.

**Lab Consumable & Scheduled Waste Management**
- To monitor the inventory of consumables & chemicals used in the lab (for physical, chemical & micro testing).
- To ensure expired chemicals are disposed accordingly.
- To ensure SDS for chemicals used in the lab are of updated version. Highlight to superior if any SDS not up to date.
- To dispose chemical waste according to standard & ensure updated details are key into the designated folder in K drive.

**Other Responsibilities**
- To participate in Inter-Lab Comparison Testing (ILCP) to assess individual’s ability to perform testing competently.
- Responsible to collect samples, test monitoring, results key in & trending update for product shelf life monitoring.
- To close GMP audit findings.
- Documentation result compilation & trending, & other special duty assigned by superiors.
- To attend DDS meeting & proper handover during shift changeover to ensure smooth internal communication.

**Skills & Experience**:

- SPM or Higher, preferably science stream
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the food industry
- Sound GMP & laboratory knowledge are essential
- Understanding of services industry will be an added advantage.
