About the Role

This role supports ALM and EC Reporting Team Lead on asset liability management.

Accountable to plan and execute the tasks assigned by supervisor and coordinate, guide and review the work prepared by junior staff with the aim to complete overall reports as per planned schedules in an efficient manner while deliver accurate and quality results in compliance with regulatory requirement and AIA governance. Able to confidently explain the financial results and confidently handle various stakeholders’ request/enquiries, lead process improvements by proposing and implementing changes to streamline and automate existing methodologies and tools.

Your contribution will be invaluable in supporting our esteemed actuarial team, guaranteeing precise financial analysis and risk evaluation. Through your proficient analytical skills, you will assess the financial impact of diverse insurance products and develop pricing strategies that empower us to thrive in the market. Your core duties will include:
Roles And Responsibilities

Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (“ICAAP”)
- Planning of timeline and tasks to ensure process efficiency
- Prepare data input and implement model, while seeking improvement opportunities where possible
- Result analysis to explain observations and provide insight on capital management
- Communicate the results/findings/financial insights to supervisor and Appointed Actuary for any necessary management action.
- Perform internal controls/reconciliation and provide explanation for any material discrepancy.
- Review Capital Management Plan conducted by ERM team on result reasonableness and appropriateness of suggested management action for recovery.
- Lead improvements in execution by proposing and implementing changes to streamline and automate existing methodologies and tools.

Asset Liability Management (“ALM”)

Coordinate Asset Liability Committee (“ALCO”) meetings with the following responsibilities:

- Manage the expectation of different collaborators from different department and ensure timely submission of the information required within the agenda
- Reach out and provide prompt response to queries from Group Office colleagues and senior management
- Actively follow up and close matters arising from the ALCO meetings
- Prepare minute of meetings
- Monitoring, reviewing and providing assessment of ALM strategies

Involvement in Liquidity management:

- with collaborators such as Finance and ERM team to review and challenge areas such as structural LAR and daily LAR monitoring and methodology.
- cashflow matching exercise, while seeking improvement opportunities to enhance processes and provide financial insight on capital optimization
- Ensure timely completion of reports for Financial Risk Committee meeting (such as Duration and Liquidity Risk)

Crediting Rate study
- Review crediting rate study for all lines of business including Universal Life
- Supervise, guide and develop junior team members to perform crediting rate study

To thrive in this role, you will need:

- A bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail
- Proficiency in actuarial software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and collaboration
