Preparatory School Receptionist

**Key Responsibilities**
**Reporting to: Head of Preparatory School**
- Effective communication is maintained at all times during the school day.
- Receive all visitors and telephone enquiries professionally and handle these in a timely fashion.
- Update and maintain internal and external systems information, particularly in respect of ISAMs.
- Provide general administrative support within the Preparatory School as required.
- Oversight of the reception area.
- Receive deliveries, supplies and mail and disseminating materials to the appropriate parties.
- Support the transport department by assisting in the coordination of pupils and paperwork.
- Coordinate the requisition and supply of consumables within the Preparatory department.
- Reporting and updating estates department on any maintenance issues.
- To attend extra curricular activities and functions as may be reasonably requested.
- To administer initial First Aid and monitor pupils need of Health Centre.
- Required to work on some Saturday onsite from 8am to 12pm during term time.
**Essential Skills and Abilities**
- Diploma qualified or above
- Excellent written and oral English for effective communication with parents, teachers and pupils Good knowledge of Google suite
- Knowledge of info management system or willingness to learn
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Previous experience in a School environment

- Demonstrates a pleasant disposition with excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with initiative, both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to relate well to people at all levels, be calm and confident under pressure

- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation in keeping with the College environment
- Confident and approachable with a positive attitude and enjoy dealing with teachers, parents and other stakeholders
- Be supportive and loyal to the ethos and work of Marlborough College Malaysia within the wider community, contributing to work across the college.
**Hours of Work**
This position is permanent, and the Receptionist is entitled to annual leave as per the College’s policies and regulations.
Normal working hours are 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday; however, the Receptionist will need to work some periods of time on weekends or during the evening during term times to support the efficient operation of the College.
