Mechanical Rotating Technician

Carries out the maintenance and repair of various types ROTATING EQUIPMENT in the entire LG PETRONAS plant equipment such as Pumps, Gear Boxes, Compressors, Steam Turbines and Expanders. This includes the regular monitoring and rectification of defective equipment, disassembly, repair and reassembly of equipment and assisting in the installation and testing of new machinery. Carries out independently or under instructions, the complete or partial overhaul of plant equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance on rotating equipment at the NBL Plant, including performing visual checks for leaks, disassembling equipment, replacing parts as directed, cleaning equipment, replacing packing and gaskets, making necessary repairs, checking bearings, and reassembling. Ensure accurate alignment and tolerances using precision measurement instruments such as laser alignment equipment, DTI clock gauges, micrometers, gauges, and verniers.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance of machinery at the NBL Plant, following maintenance schedules, checklists, and specific equipment requirements. This includes changing oils, greasing, cleaning strainers and filters, and conducting general overhauls of equipment. Repair or replace defective parts, reassemble overhauled equipment, and perform required tests and performance monitoring during start-up.
- Assist in planning and executing annual shutdowns and major equipment turnarounds at the NBL Plant. Perform complete overhauls of rotating equipment as needed. Reassemble and test equipment in accordance with requirements and test schedules.
- Support equipment inspections at the NBL Plant to ensure their overall healthiness and identify any issues or potential problems.
- Strictly adhere to plant safety protocols and maintain good housekeeping practices at the NBL Plant.
- Continuously improve equipment and process reliability, safety, maintainability, and cost efficiency at the NBL Plant. Actively participate in major development projects aimed at achieving these improvements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of completed job tasks at the NBL Plant.
- Conduct technical investigations and root cause analyses to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures or malfunctions at the NBL Plant.
- Provide input on budget and financial projections related to equipment maintenance activities at the NBL Plant.
- Collaborate closely with the Planning Team at the NBL Plant to ensure smooth operation and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Request external materials and services when necessary for equipment maintenance at the NBL Plant.
- Ensure the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set for the Maintenance Team at the NBL Plant.
- Take responsibility for supporting company safety, environmental, and quality policies and programs at the NBL Plant. Carry out specific duties and responsibilities outlined in management system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual, Safety Manual, and other relevant documents.
- Adhere to the Work Management Process of GTL processes and procedures at the NBL Plant.
