Ensuring that all manufacturing equipment is properly calibrated to ensure that it is operating at peak performance levels
- Preparing reports on production statistics and other data to help managers make decisions about production processes
- Ensuring that all safety procedures are followed at all times to minimize risk of injury or damage to equipment or materials
- Conducting research on new technology or methods that may improve production processes or efficiency
- Implementing new manufacturing processes or methods to improve efficiency, such as automation or computer-controlled machining
- Inspecting parts for defects or flaws before they are shipped to customers, using a variety of tools such as x-ray machines and microscopes
- Training new employees on proper safety procedures and company policies
- Working with suppliers to ensure that raw materials are available when needed
- Performing routine maintenance on machinery or equipment to ensure it performs efficiently
