Excavation Specialist

**Qualification**:

- Possess minimum five (5) years’ relevant practical experience in construction industry specifically in civil works, slope repair work suitable for the scope.
- Minimum Diploma holder in Engineering in Civil or Geotechnical.
- Attend the required training and certification from certified bodies i.e. CIDB.
- Have valid Authorized Entrance Standby Person (AESP) from NIOSH and accredited industrial training institution, certified competent and register with relevant authority as per local law and regulation.
- Possess knowledge Engineering in Civil or Geotech.
- Attended relevant excavation course.
- Fit for confined space medical examination.
- Fluent in English and Malay (Speaking and Writing).
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word/excel/Power point/AutoCAD/ SketchUp).

**Job Purpose**:

- To include PTS definition for confine space excavation. Perform site assessment and monitor pre, during and post excavation activity.
- Provide relevant design, procedure and supporting calculation drawing including Professional Engineer Endorsement especially for design of sloping, benching, shoring and bracing system for all type of excavation.
- Ensure all precautionary measures to minimize the effects of excavation to surroundings are in accordance with good and acceptable engineering practices.
- Produce, review and approved excavation plan for any excavation activity including confined space and shoring design.
- Ensure excavation system of safety review, checklist and control is established for review on a regular basis.
- Able to perform geohazard assessment inclusive and not limited to type of soil identification, manual testing, and slope assessment.
- Perform daily coordination of excavation work including readiness of permit to work (PTW) onsite along with other inspection works.
- Participate in Risk assessment (RA) ,JHA and RCFA.
- Produce report daily basis or as per required for excavation activities.
- Coordinate with scaffolding team for hoarding assessment (if any).
- Conduct in house training.
- Develop training modules.
