Reporting to the Shift Manager, the incumbent is responsible to control the submerged arc furnace process and its associated auxiliary processes and -equipment, on a shift basis, ensuring its smooth and safe operation to achieve the desired outputs, through:

- Safety management - Follow
- and suggest improvements on safe operating procedures and standards.
- Process management - Understanding, problem-solving and taking corrective action on process/equipment deviations to maximize equipment throughput, efficiency, availability, and utilization.
- Collaboration & Communication - Effectively and clearly communicate and collaborate with own team and other departments to sustain a stable operating environment.
- Feedback & Reporting - Conduct effective inspections and follow up on deviations. Data capturing and evaluation of management system and operational log-sheets.
- Process and systems improvement - Evaluate and suggest improvement opportunities to play a role in the ongoing success of the business.

- **REQUIREMENT**:

- Working experience within a production environment will be advantageous.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Furnace processes and SCADA system will be advantageous.
- Qualification in an engineering/technical field will be advantageous.
- Able to demonstrate key competencies: Technical expertise, Systematic & Analytical, Conceptual thinking, Process management, Communication, Problem-solving, Planning & Organizing and Accountability.
