Providing delivery of claims services, determining proper policy coverage to conclude, investigate, evaluate and negotiate assigned cases. Ensuring customer satisfaction and equitable solution to claims in accordance with company guidelines.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the implementation of claims management strategies and objectives for the region /branch.
- Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines and policy changes and modifications.
- Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve Claims systems and procedures.
- Manage and approve claims in accordance within defined procedures, KPI’s, the Asia Claims Manual and within appropriate authority levels.
- Maintain good client relationships with the insured, agents, service providers and the general public.
- Respond to client requests in accordance with service standards.
- Provide information and feedback on claims activity and developing trends to underwriters/risk assessors to enable appropriate actions to be carried out.
- Ensure recoverable amounts are assessed and effectively followed up and approving significant claims within written authority levels.
- Ensure legitimate claims are paid in accordance with policy conditions by providing technical expertise and leadership.
- Manage and supervise any suppliers appointed to investigate and/or assist with a claim including surveyors, adjusters and lawyers.
- May be required to supervise the investigation and settlement of all claims within the team.
- Complete 24 hours relevant CPD training per year.
- Identify and self-report any incidents and/risks identified during the course of your duties.

Requirement:

- Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Preferred Maritime Qualification in Maritime Law or Industry equivalent
- 3 years Marine Insurance Claims experience or 7 years experience in insurance
- Essential CMII, CII or ACII minimum certification required - Can be obtained during probationary period if required.
- Strong understand of insurance industry and insurance and reinsurance principles and processes.
- In-depth understanding of the end-to-end claims handling process, from initial notification to settlement and recovery.
- Maritime Law and Regulations.
- Knowledge of different types of vessels (e.g., container ships, tankers, fishing vessels) and their specific operations, risks, and associated insurance needs.
- Understanding of cargo handling practices, stowage, and the risks associated with different types of cargo (e.g., perishables, hazardous materials).
- Ability to effectively review and manage claims documentation, including bills of lading, survey reports, and legal documents.
- Knowledge of loss prevention techniques and risk management strategies to minimize incidents and claims.
- Familiarity with the role of surveyors and adjusters in assessing damages and losses.
- Expertise in managing claims expenses, including reserving, cost control, and budgeting.

- Basic English Communication Skills.
