Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
- Introduce and maintain components and parts within the master ECAD library (symbols, footprints, pad-stacks, pads, mappings, attributes, 3D models as STEP files and in future also Reusable Blocks) according to the Engineering Standards and ECAD library definitions guideline.
- Maintain process and guideline documentation in English.
- Ensure a high quality of the master library for PCB designers and PCBA manufacturing.
- Ensure all required attributes are available for the schematic design.
- Approve/reject second source introductions requests and adjust ECAD part, if necessary. Do impact analysis and trigger engineering change requests within Teamcenter system to update affected PCBA designs, if necessary.
- Design or adjust 3D representations for electronic parts in a MCAD system if the 3D models are not available from manufacturers.
- Close cooperation with R&D requiring new component introductions, Sourcing Engineers (SEs) and manufacturing engineers (MEs) in China and Switzerland.
What You Need to Succeed
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with definition of electronic components in ECAD systems
- Experience with Mentor Expedition library manager and DMS librarian
- Good English skills (spoken and written), Chinese and or German are an additional asset
- Structured and accurate way of working. No mistakes acceptable in ECAD part definitions, which can lead to several months extra delays in development of new PCBAs.
- Independent and self-responsible
- Flexible way of working (tasks and time), may require work outside usual working hours
- Open-minded and engaged personality
- Independent working method and proactive communication skills
- Proficient user of MS Office and IT savvy in general
- International travel required during onboarding phase, afterwards (approx. two weeks per year)
