**Requirements**:

- Degree or Diploma in Chemical or Engineering background with 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing or SHE role, preferably within the chemical industry.
- Preferably **Green book Holder and Certified Environment Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CEPSWaM)**:

- Preferably **Competent Person of IETS (Industrial Effluent Treatment System)**

**Purpose of the Job**
- Responsible for the safety and security of the site, ensuring full compliance to all SHE related statutory, SHEMS and Synthomer SHE requirements to ensure safe site operations and good maintenance of all site facilities.
- The SHE responsibilities of this person with approval from Site Manager to enable him/her the authority to shutdown AIC or any of its activities if found to be in a dangerous or unsafe condition.

**Main Accountabilities**:

- To serve in the role of Site SHE & Facilities Management/activities for the Asia Innovation Centre (AIC) to support AIC Site Manager.
- To implement SHE policies, procedures, SHEMS, SHE principles, SHE golden and site rules, guidelines and procedures to ensure safe operation. Owner of local SHE procedures.
- Ensure effective Safe Systems of Work are maintained, e.g. PTW, MOC, by acting as Permit Issuer, carrying out regular monitoring and leading routine effectiveness reviews.
- Ensure formal SHE routines are established, monitored, and periodically audited, e.g. Workplace inspections, procedural audits, SHE Committee meetings, Management reviews etc.
- Ensure timely delivery of agreed SHE improvement actions, e.g. SHE Improvement Plans, internal/external audits, Risk Assessments etc.
- Ensure all accidents/incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner, identifying and recommending preventative actions and ensuring Lessons Learnt are identified and communicated effectively.
- Submit all necessary reports to Regional SHE, Group SHE and local authorities, e.g. Monthly SHE reports, Annual SHE Returns, Accident reporting, etc.
- Review and maintain an effective site Emergency Response Plan, ensuring that routine equipment inspections and periodic training exercises are carried out.
- Ensure compliance to all agreed Safety and Legal Compliance standards, e.g. CLASS
- Ensure all risk assessments are valid, up-to-date and reviewed after significant changes or after workplace accidents and incidents
- To liaise with regional SHE to coordinate the implementation of relevant safety policies, regulations, legal compliances.
- To act as the communication focal point with local authorities such as DOSH, DOE on reporting the environmental or safety performances to authority on required frequency
- Carry out Safety inductions for all employees, contractors and visitors
- Maintain an up-to-date chemical register and submit Hazardous chemical inventory to DASH. Conduct chemical exposure monitoring as recommended by CHRA report
- To-organize and maintain safety training for employees through internal and external training programmes.
- To provide, monitor and maintain data on the company's SHE performance (e.g. SHE portal, annual SHE returns and POSI).
- To act as AIC scheduled waste competent person and responsible for scheduled waste management. Liaise with occupational health doctor together with human resource on occupational health programme under USECHH regulations 2000.
- Ensure that basic site facilities are well-maintained according to schedules and coordinate external parties for regular and emergency maintenance needs
- Support AIC Site Manager with Site Security issues
- Support Site Manager on any SHE related ad-hoc tasks or activities and leadership initiatives
