The Wire-Cut Machinist Leader is a skilled professional responsible for overseeing and leading a team of wire-cut machinists in a manufacturing or machining environment. Wire-cut machining, also known as wire EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), is a specialized process used to cut intricate and precise shapes in metal workpieces using electrical discharges. As a Wire-Cut Machinist Leader, your primary objective is to ensure efficient and accurate wire-cut machining operations while providing guidance and support to your team. Key Responsibilities: Team Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of wire-cut machinists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their skills development and effective performance. Production Planning: Collaborate with production managers and engineers to plan and schedule wire-cut machining jobs, taking into consideration workloads, deadlines, and resource availability. Machine Setup: Set up wire-cut machines, including loading workpieces, installing appropriate cutting tools, and configuring machining parameters. Programming: Develop or review CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs for wire-cut machines to accurately produce desired shapes based on engineering drawings or specifications. Quality Control: Implement stringent quality control measures to ensure that the wire-cut machined parts meet precise tolerances and specifications. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during wire-cut machining operations, working with the team to troubleshoot and find solutions.
