It has contributed to the construction of many buildings, homes and infrastructure and is the preferred supplier for complex and large-scale developments.
- MCB is the largest cement manufacturer in Malaysia. It has five integrated cement plants, with four in operation in Langkawi, Kanthan, Padang Rengas and Bukit Sagu. The 70-year old Rawang Plant ceased operations at the start of 2020 for planned major refurbishments. Additionally, MCB has four grinding stations in Pasir Gudang and West Port, three cement terminal facilities located in West Port and Pasir Gudang, and two cement depots in Batu Caves and Shah Alam. Beyond its cement plants, MCB has 70 ready-mixed concrete batching plants and three aggregate quarries throughout Peninsular Malaysia and two drymix plants in Rawang and Pasir Gudang.

- Job Summary
- As a Legal Manager / Senior Legal Executive, you will be responsible for providing timely and comprehensive legal advice and support (including drafting and negotiation of contracts) on commercial, operational, dispute resolution as well as legal and regulatory compliance. This support will be provided to the business divisions of YTL Cement Group which are involved primarily in manufacturing/production and sale of building/construction materials as well as other businesses/activities they may undertake.
- Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- 1. Provision of legal services and handling broad base corporate and commercial matters (non-contentious and contentious)
- 2. Drafting, vetting, and negotiating various types of contracts and other documentation
- 3. Advising on legal aspects and compliance for contracts and other documentation
- 4. Managing and working alongside lawyers (local and foreign) engaged for projects or transactions (if required) and on litigation/arbitration matters.
- 5. Any other ad hoc duties assigned as and when necessary**Requirements**:

- Qualifications
- 1. Recognised LL.B (Hons) law degree
- 2. Preferably with at least 5 years work experience in corporate and commercial matters
- 3. Preferably having worked in legal practice and possess basic knowledge of litigation
- 4. Preferably with knowledge of and experience in land related matters including conveyancing, leases, tenancies, and property development
- 5. Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills
- 6. Able to think commercially and quickly develop an understanding of relevant businesses and operating environment
- 7. Able to appreciate the role of an in-house counsel and the commercial and practical context in which legal advice is provided or contract drafting is required
- 8. Good attention to detail
- 9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- 10. Strong command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
- 11. Ability to converse in and write Chinese would be an added advantage
