**Job Details**:
Location: Qingdao, Shandong Province, China

Position: Kindergarten principal

Level of school: Kindergarten

Student age: 2-6 years old

Working hours: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday - Friday

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

**Academic Management & Leadership**
- Build the academic team of kindergarten and ensure the team to achieve the highest possible standards of excellence in all aspects and be responsible for the team’s induction, retainment, development and performance.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to develop an ambitious vision for learning at the kindergarten which translates the vision into a clear, measurable strategy, inspiring and empowering in its delivery. Commit to and contribute to the development of a successful School Development Plan and take responsibility for allocated targets.
- Ensure that school resources are appropriately identified and allocated to best meet the needs of student learning and the ability for students to meet their potential.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement systems and policies.
- Support the development of co-curricular activities and the pastoral system.
- Create an efficient, productive and caring atmosphere where all students and staff have opportunity to be recognized for their best efforts.
- Serve as a positive, contributing member to the Senior Leadership Team, supporting policy and practice that is best for student learners.

**Curriculum Instruction & Coordination**
- Establish goals, objectives and requirements concerning curriculum and instruction, staff professional development, student assessment, school evaluation, etc. in alignment to the strategic partners’ practices.
- Work with School Leadership Team to develop a bespoke quality curriculum that ensures synergies between Chinese and international provisions in terms of keeping appropriate academic and intellectual rigor and promoting affective development of students and to develop an approach to teaching and learning that targets a complete education.
- Work with the Curriculum Head to develop and implement modern approaches and methods of student assessment and develop key skills within students which will equip them for success at future stages of their education and in life, to assure a dynamic alignment between the curriculum and instruction and the government and non-government examination requirements, to develop robust curricula for other stakeholders, including but not limited to parents.
- Present the school’s educational model and provisions to the local EDB for approval.

**Student recruitment and marketing activities**
- Participate in marketing and student recruitment events as necessary, engaging the prospectus parents and students.
- Promote and raise awareness of the kindergarten and the schools and our bespoke curriculum, represent the group to speak publicly in education fairs and conferences.
- Develop and implement assessment for admission purposes.

**Requirements**:
**Essential**:

- A bachelor's degree in a relevant area such as early childhood education, educational leadership, teacher education, curriculum development, or school management
- With recognised teaching qualifications and principal certificate.
- At least three years of experience as a school administrator, with documented leadership experience in pedagogy, curriculum, and/or professional development;
- Sound knowledge of modern teaching methodology
- Excellent people skills particularly parent communication.
- Ability to relate well to other cultures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral English and Chinese.

**Desirable**:

- Experience of international education and/or curricula.
- Experience of living and/or working overseas.
