Job Location: Kuala Lumpur

Experience: More than 2 years of experience in Database Administration

Only Local Malaysian preferred

**Primary Functions**:
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Manage and maintain databases like MS SQL, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, MYSQL and REDIS
- Perform database upgrades, patching, and migration activities
- Monitor and optimize database performance by implementing performance tuning strategies
- Ensure data backup and recovery plans and disaster recovery strategies are in place and maintained
- Work with developers to implement best practices and design efficient database schemas
- Collaborate with teams across the department to ensure database systems are integrated and compatible
- Conduct regular database maintenance tasks and optimize SQL queries
- Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in database administration
- Develop and maintain database documentation and diagrams

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or any related field
- In-depth knowledge of database Administration task, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. They should also have a strong understanding of architecture and the various database components such as memory, processes, and file systems.
- Knowledgeable in multiple DBs such as ORACLE, MS SQL, DB2, MY SQL and PostgreSQL
- Good understanding of database security principles and be able to implement appropriate security measures to protect the database from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
- Knowledgeable in scripting and automation skills, including the ability to write scripts to automate routine database maintenance tasks, generate reports, and perform other administrative tasks.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning methodologies, including identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing SQL queries, and tuning database parameters to ensure optimal performance.
- Thorough understanding of backup and recovery solutions, including implementing backup strategies, performing database recovery, and testing backup and recovery procedures.
- Committed to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices. They should also be willing to share their knowledge and expertise with other team members.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certifications in Oracle database administration or other relevant DBs is a bonus
