Duties and Responsibilities : 1 Clinical (Assist consultants and patients) a) Assist patient in the registration counter. b) Assist doctors during consultation of patients. c) Assist the doctor and Staff Nurse with minor procedures, and others as requested. d) Assist in transportation of patients to Laboratory, Imaging and wards. e) Trace / prepare case notes for doctors to see follow up cases. f) Ensure all results are traced, reviewed by Consultant and file accordingly. g) Schedule appointments for patients. h) Inform patient of any changes in appointment. i) Provide information on hospital services and facilities to patients, at patient’s queries. j) Participate in patient health education, activities and session. k) Assist Medical Records Department in preparation of medical reports by consultants. l) Monitor and indent linen, surgical, domestic supplies and equipment maintenance. m) Ensure that all procedures and investigations are entered in charging vouchers. n) Ensures the clinics are clean and clinical waste is handled as per hospital guidelines. o) Ensures the clinic are prepared before the clinic operational begin for patient visitation. p) Ensures the treatment room is cleaned after each procedure is completed. q) Ensure used instruments are clean before sending them to CSSD for sterilization. r) Maintain inventory on surgical, medical and linen stocks. s) Maintain an inventory of all clinical and surgical instruments in the doctors’ rooms and treatment room. t) Prepare doctors’ room by ensuring all equipment safe and in operating condition. u) Ensure assets are maintain and kept in good condition. v) Assist Supervisor and Nursing Supervisor in charge when required in clinic management activities. w) Ensures patients appointment is schedule accordingly for consultant clinic visit. 2. Public Relation a) Provide assistance to patients in answering all their queries on Specialist Clinic services. b) Provide information on hospital services and facilities to patients. c) Establish good public relation with patients. d) Assist in counter services - attending to phone calls, appointments and queries. e) Ensure unit is in safe, clean and healthy environment. f) Liaise with doctors and management in meeting their requests. 3. Others a) Assist the receptionist with clerical duties when required. b) To perform any other assignment delegated by immediate superior, HOD or by management from time to time.
