As we transition to more data driven and digitalization savvy organization, the Technical Data Management (TDM) & Workflow team are vital to how we deliver quality data and efficient workflow solutions to support subsurface excellent and digitalization agenda.

You’re going to be a key part of our TDM & Workflow team of professionals who have hybrid skills are passionate about helping Shell use data, efficient workflow, and digital skills in a broader sense to support businesses via consultancy to make better decisions and run safer and more efficiently.

**About the role**

The Subsurface Data Consultant will support the TDM & Workflow team and provide expertise and services in Subsurface & Wells (SS&W) data management, specific to Production Technology & Wells, Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM) related data. You’ll thrive on providing competitive insights and advice, backed by solid data. More specifically, your role will be accountable for the following:

- Provide data management support for the various business activities such as WRFM, well integrity, internal & external audit, data handover under One Subsurface function
- Develop WRFM TDM plans, publishing final PT and WRFM related data and drive data quality improvement initiatives working with data owners, focusing on ensuring that global standards, practices, and initiatives are embedded into the asset, in preparation for OSDU deployment
- Identify, plan, and drive delivery of continuous improvement opportunities and digitalization initiatives, realizing business value from quality data for WRFM and Development
- Provide support in the establishment of processes, tools, and standards to bring a step change in the delivery of data management, data quality & data integrity
- Maintaining operational stability, integrity and performance of the SS&W operational environments including management of multiple projects and functional improvement activities, which are locally developed in partnership with business and/or TDM function
- Provide relevant compliance information to business data/document owners for assurance and license to operate purposes. Ensure that all legal and contractual obligations are followed in the submission of subsurface data to regulatory bodies, government agencies and partners.
- Promote good information management practices. Ensure that projects are started up, executed and closed out according to Global TDM standards and assured by the correct Technical Authorities. This includes ensuring publishing of relevant technical documents as per ORP and DCAF.
- Developing clear recommendations, underpinned by data and a solid business case.

**What we need from you?**

When it comes to trusted data at your fingertips and efficient workflow support, it’s your excellent data management skills that will make the difference. You will embed the data accountability with Data Value Owner (DVO), embrace an Agile mindset, and nurturing collaborative stakeholder relations that will have a direct impact on our subsurface outcome. Furthermore, you will have:

- A Bachelors or Master’s degree, in Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, Information Technology, or Production Engineering
- Substantial data management skills, sufficient familiarity of analytics tools (eg Spotfire, Power BI etc) and the basic programming languages such as Oracle, MySQL, Python
- Sufficient knowledge of Business Delivery Frameworks and assurance processes across the business lifecycle, advance knowledge of the associated business processes.
- Significant experience of strategic consultancy.
- Proven change management and effective communication skills
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
