**Purpose**:

- To protect Shareholders’ value by way of optimizing Economic Capital based on calculated financial risks (asset, liability and asset-liability mismatching risks) and tested in different scenarios;
- To create Shareholders’ value by way of optimizing Risk-Adjusted Return on Capital (RAROC) taking into consideration the Shareholders’ Cost of Capital (CoC).
- Support the Group CRO to drive all relevant financial risk management activities of the Malaysia Conventional entities, overseas entities and the Group.
- Manage efficient and effective execution of assigned projects ensuring timeliness, and quality of deliverables, as well as engaging different stakeholders, to ensure coordination during execution.
- Provide technical guidance and support for internal staff and assist with technical reviews.

**Supporting Activities**:

- Undertaking a periodic review to assess the effectiveness of the risk management framework/policies is necessary to ensure that the framework continues to evolve and meet the needs of the Group.
- Automate manual/tedious tasks so that the compilation of data is seamless.
- Find better ways to present findings/data to provide valuable insights to management.
- The credit risk policy is updated annually for the full review and ad-hoc basis as and when there are changes to Maybank Group’s policies and procedures which impact Etiqa’s credit risk policy.
- New and improved models.

**Challenges**:

- Ensure timeliness and quality of deliverables, as well as engage stakeholders to ensure coordination during the assignment.
- Soliciting feedback from various stakeholders and incorporating their feedback into their updates.

**Business As Usual**:

- Input files are provided to FRM in a timely manner from the various stakeholders - IMD, Finance/CCD, etc.
- Results are compiled and monitored by FRM on a monthly basis.
- Key messages are compiled quarterly and presented to ALCO for their information.

- The credit risk dashboard is submitted as part of the Financial Risk Report to ALCO. Results are presented to ALCO on a quarterly basis.

- Provide technical guidance and support for internal staff and assist with technical reviews.

**Project/Sector Initiative**:
The strategic initiatives include but are not limited to:

- Enhancements to financial models and working files to reflect IFRS17 standards.
- IFRS17 impact assessments on MYB stress tests and ICAAP processes as well as other working files under FRM.
- Developments in ESG risk requirements for investments.
- Assist Reporting Teams to update financial models and BAU working files to reflect IFRS17 standards.
- Aid in the impact assessment of IFRS17 for each deliverable.
- ESG screening tools for the identification and assessment of ESG risks from investments
- Identifying and ensuring external inter-dependencies are appropriately owned and managed.

**Ad Hoc**:

- Become an ESG expert on matters related to ESG for investments by:

- Ensuring developments in the industry to assess ESG risks are reflected in current processes to identify and assess ESG risk.
- Ensure alignment with Maybank Group’s initiatives related to ESG.
- Deliverables as needed
- Perform other duties that may be added or changed as the nature and scope of the job directs.
