Sonographer

1. Prepare ultrasound equipment and exam room ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed

2. Reporting all incidences encountered within the department pertaining ultrasound equipment/ processing failures, M&E problems related to ultrasound room and facilities to Radiology Manager.

3. Filing of all incoming and outgoing correspondences.

4. Performing ultrasound examination as requested by Medical Officer or Medical Consultant.

5. To perform variety of technical procedures that requires independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative for diagnostic images.

6. Review the patient's medical notes and consultant’s request prior to their appointment and have a clear understanding of the images required.

7. Use positioning tools and safety equipment properly to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

8. Use ethical judgment and critical thinking skills to perform diagnostic imaging safely.

9. Review images before sending to the radiologists/consultants to ensure a clear image of the area requested has been performed and covered.

10. To produce ultrasound images of highest quality/standard and of good diagnostic value at mínimal cost.

11. Maintain proper care of the ultrasound equipment and related accessories for cost effective.

12. Responsible towards the safety and proper care of patients while undergoing ultrasound examination.

13. Maintain the room with adequate supplies/consumables and room temperature/relative humidity as recommend.

14. To perform scans as planned from the desired or specific body region and protocol.

15. To perform daily warm-up and calibration tests on equipment.

16. To inspect daily the laser printer for smooth running function.

17. Perform accurate ultrasound tests of a particular area of the body, based on a physician's order.

18. Analysis the test result from the ultrasound equipment. Calculations and measurements of the images are performed and presented to the consultant for a diagnosis and treatment plan.

19. Identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.

20. Organize and perform ultrasound examination, document high quality images and practice good patient care.

21. Works with radiologists in special procedure in ultrasound.

22. Use independent judgment in recognizing the need to extend the scope of procedure according to diagnostic findings.

23. Alert and aware of any breakdown, analyze technical information due to error in ultrasound equipment and inform superior and biomedical engineer.

**Salary**: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
