1. Assist Gate Supervisor in maintaining a smooth traffic flow at the gate by assisting the truckers / hauliers with gate processes and look after the lanes and the gate equipment.
2. Assist the gate supervisor in managing the gate terminal and ensure constant attention on traffic flow.
3. Ensure accuracy of updated data and ensure that no containers enters the terminal without proper pre-advise and data entry.
4. Handles queries from the truckers / hauliers and other port users who wish to use the port.
5. Attends the pre-gate discrepancies (problems faced by trucker / haulier) and redirect and guide them to the correct the discrepancies.
6. Active communications with Yard during the operation time in order to ensure the allocation of every container (rail/ special arrangement) are properly executed as planned.
7. Always ready to be allocated at any location considered necessary in Gate and ITT Department to assist and support the operation. JD is referred and compiled if more of one assignment given.
8. Plan the container movement from CY to Depot and vice versa based on given MRO by liner.
9. Perform physical inspection on containers number, condition, seal number, placards or sticker affixed, reefer settings, DG container and etc.
Malaysia’s most advanced container terminal, The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) is strategically located at the confluence of the main east-west shipping lanes, offering Shipping Lines mínimal deviation time of 45 minutes. PTP is situated in a sheltered bay and has no tide restrictions.

Local cargo movement to major industrial estates is accessible through the second Malaysia-Singapore expressway and the north-south highway. In addition to road, sea and air inter-modal linkages, PTP is also connected to the national rail grid passing through Peninsular Malaysia from Singapore to Southern Thailand.

PTP has 14 linear berths totalling 5.04km. The terminal is equipped with 58 Super Post Panamax cranes, 16 of which have a 24-box outreach catering for the next generation of Triple E size vessels. These cranes also have twin-lift capability to further enhance productivity. PTP’s current average over 32 moves per hour/crane, and berth productivity stands at 100 moves per hour minimum.
