**Job summary**
- The Veterinary Advisor (VA) is part of the Professional and Veterinary Affairs team responsible for relationship building, education, and influence of veterinary and pet retail customers. These include veterinary specialists, general practitioners, members of the veterinary healthcare team, Key Thought Leaders (KTLs) in the veterinary profession, academic administrators, faculty, residents, interns, and students, leaders of veterinary professional organizations, and pet retailers. This role also provides support for the Client’s Customer Development Organization by delivering internal education to sales Territory Managers, providing external education and training to pet and veterinary customers, and supporting customer initiatives. The VA works closely with the Commercial Manager to identify business needs and implement strategies to grow the business. The VA’s work ensures that Client’s is known as a scientific, innovative, and credible partner that is engaged with veterinary and pet care professionals to transform the lives of dogs and cats through superior nutrition.**General responsibilities**:
- product knowledge to communicate the superiority and practical use of Client’s products and services to increase presence, professional endorsement and sales in veterinary practices
- TM Technical Support: Support Territory Managers’ technical, nutritional, and product expertise with education and training during district meetings and conference calls, and while working in the field.
- Key Account via educate and implement initiatives that result in an active Client’s recommendation from the veterinary healthcare team. Increase Client’s sales and market share with assigned vet hospital customers.
- Vet School Program execution : Engage with College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) faculty, interns, residents and 3rd/4th year students. Provide education on clinical nutrition and Client’s products, improving nutritional competence and influencing active recommendation of Client’s products. Build relationships with administrators and key staff to establish Client’s as a valuable and trusted partner. Work with Client’s Student Representatives to identify and coordinate opportunities to create a positive presence in veterinary schools, and to encourage the use of Client’s products through school feeding program.
- Vet Social Media and digital engagement
- Serve on project teams, deliver professional digital engagement, such as webinars, and support Client’s regional PVA projects as assigned
- Management of Urolith Analysis Service
- Speak at seminar or events when required
- Assist to plan and participate in customer events that will increase product sales and market share.
**Functional skills and knowledge**:
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Google tools and ability to learn company specific tools & programs
- Must be able to work independently, manage a demanding schedule with irregular hours and manage travel to deliver internal and external customer visits/training; some overnight travel required
- Ability to make sound decisions under conditions of uncertainty or complexity
- Good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (internal and external, all levels).

**Education**:
- Bachelor Degree in veterinary medicine
**Work experience**:
- Current veterinary license and clinically competent
- Previous experience in, veterinary, pharmaceutical company or Nutrition Company preferred.
