Job Summary

Responsible for fabric specification. To determine type of fabric for fabrication and quantity of swatches to be fabricated.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Using electric knife and scissors to execute the cutting of material- Spread fabric on table in single or multiple layers- Positions pattern over fabric to ensure fabric design is on swatch area and traces outline of pattern- Removes pattern and cuts along outline, using scissors, electric knife, to form swatch

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)- Experience in fabric material cutting- Experience in reading sample list to determine specific fabric and pattern

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

Works on the production/assembly floor. May also work in a general warehouse environment with adequate lighting and ventilation with occasional elevated noise levels.

Minimal physical effort is required; however, the job position does require frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting or possibly carrying objects.
