**Job Overview**:
The Principal Naval Architect is accountable for supporting FEED/EPCIC projects with design and installation engineering/analysis activities related Floatover Engineering, Mooring Analysis, Jacket/topside loadout and offloading analysis, Dynamic Jacket Launch and upending analysis, Transportation analysis and other Naval Architecture scope in a lead role and addressing various requirements for procurement.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Lead a team of Engineers, responsible for the following design inputs and installation engineering:

- Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards
- Provide installation loads on offshore structures to the Structural Eng at the Engineering phase of the project so that the structures could be designed for the installation loads
- Perform detail installation engineering calculations to confirm the installation loads are within the permissible capacities of installation equipment like barges, derrick barges, cranes, etc.
- Evaluate the limiting weather in which various offshore installations can be performed without overloading the installation equipment as well as the installed structures
- Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and - procedures
- Manage own time to meet objectives and (as Lead Engineer) forecast and plan resource requirements
- Clearly communicate and explain difficult concepts and persuade others to adopt a point of view
- When acting as Lead Engineer, in addition:

- Direct an Engineering team as a Lead Engineer
- Lead the Discipline engineering design of the assigned work area and completed within the planned schedule and budget, in accordance with standards, MDR, and project-specific procedures and to a high professional standard
- Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of Discipline execution on the assigned project including scope, deliverables, schedule, and all manpower resources - agree allocations with the Discipline Manager
- Ensure interfaces and deliverables are clearly identified
- Maintain responsibility for progress and productivity, identifying any required corrective action
- Act as project representative for the Discipline during meetings with Project Team,
- Customer discipline lead and relevant agencies such as certifying authorities, auditors, third parties, etc.
- The Tasks and responsibility of the Principal Naval Architect (PNA) includes the following:

- Become fully familiar with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements; including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address issues, interpreting contractual requirements as they relate to engineering execution
- Member of the Bid Engineering team; provides Naval inputs in the form of analysis to be performed at the Bid stage, and provides execution workhours
- Identify the limits of installation hardware, and evaluate if the installation can be performed by in-house hardware or if there is a need to hire external hardware based on the calculated limits; effective evaluation helps in costing the bid accurately, thereby, improving the probability of winning a particular bid
- Raise Technical queries and deviation from standards, whenever necessary
- During the EPCI stage, the PNA is involved in the following:

- Identify the changes to scope and promptly raise change notifications, including providing any necessary supporting documentation and estimates Provide similar support for variation orders
- Interface with all disciplines to develop clash-free designs
- Interface with other departments to obtain input for discipline designs and drawings
- Maintain close coordination with other engineering disciplines, Planning, fabrication, Marine, and Project Management Team, as required
- Document substantive communications (communications that result in significant decisions or assignment of actions) and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager
