Chemistry Lecturer

Responsible for teaching Foundation in Science modules to students at IMU. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, tutorials, problem-solving learning, fieldwork, e-learning and tablets / iPad for teaching and learning purposes. Encouraged to pursue own areas of research and develop these in order to contribute to the broader research activities of the department. Involved in academic management work as and when required by the Director of the Centre of Pre-University Studies in conjunction with the Programme Director. This includes coordination work, e.g., module coordinator etc. and will also have a pastoral role to mentor and guide students. - To develop and implement new methods of teaching to reflect changes in research;
- To design, prepare and develop teaching materials;
- To deliver lectures, seminars and tutorials;
- To assess students' coursework and assignments;
- To set and mark examinations;
- To invigilate examinations - To coordinate modules - To support students through a pastoral/advisory role;
- Where applicable, to contribute to relevant research projects and actively contribute to the institution's research profile;
- To undertake continuous professional development (CPD) and participate in staff training activities;
