**Position Summary**:
As host/Hostess, you are the guest’s first impression of the restaurant, with knowledge of menus, menu ingredients and guest preferences.

You are the essential member of the Food & Beverages team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. You are dutiful to greet guests promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, and a smile. Utilizing Open Table, as Host/ess you are in charge taking reservations, reviews the daily reservation book and has the ability to seat guests without reservations and to be familiar with frequent guests' details. The Host/ess has complete working knowledge of the menus such as ingredients and what is unavailable for that day. A principal role within the restaurant, you are anticipated to be familiar with server stations, your daily assignments, personal timing patterns and maximum workload capacity.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- The ability to seat guests promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference.
- Set up host/hostess stand, review guest reservation book, and make recommendations as to the set-up of the room, maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant while recognizing the maximum workload capacity of each server to meet ELSE Service standards.
- Answer telephones according to ELSE standards and take guest reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service.
- Anticipate the needs of guests, respond accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests by name and utilize the guest’s name consistently.
- Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance while developing a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
- To directly implement and maintain the standards of service quality pertaining to his / her area of responsibility by providing the best possible service to our guests.
- To directly give maximum care to the maintenance of the physical assets of the outlets within his/her responsibility to keep them in the best possible functional state.
- Checks schedule and ensures punctuality at work.
- Ensures that service / items are prepared according to hotel minimum standards and standard procedures.
- Checks cleanliness of the areas of the assign prior to and after service.
- The ability to intervene with a potentially intoxicated guests in the bar or lounge, taking steps to slow down service and only cut a guest off away from other guests. Always be discreet avoid embarrassment and stop the drinking before it gets to be a big deal.
- The responsibilities of the hostess include monitoring no show, cancelation, and overbooking reservations to be communicate with manager to ensure revenue maximizing. Estimating wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. The hostess is often responsible for answering the telephone, booking reservations, and moving tables together to accommodate large parties.
- Hygiene & Food Safety Management System ensures that staff applies the necessary precautions with regards to the hotel food safety and hygiene standards.
- Fire & Life Safety, ensure that staff are aware of and applies the procedures concerning hotel fire and life safety / emergency procedures.
- Complete special projects (menu changes, signage, etc.) as instructed.
- Ensure proper table set-up and make minor adjustments as needed,
- Stocking paper and bar supplies.
- Assist with the service and preparation of beverages and food to guests.
- Assist in seating of guests.
- Assist with the cleaning of operational areas.

**Desired Qualifications**:
**IMMEDIATE STARTER REQUIRED**
- **SPM or STPM (High School Education or Equivalent Experience Is Required)**:

- **Food Handler certificate and Typhoid Vaccination Required.**:

- **Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management**:

- Minimum One Years Previous Experience in The Restaurant, Lounge or Food & Beverage related position with other organizations
- **5 Stars Hotel Experience Required.**
