**Position overview**:
Are you passionate about working in laboratory environment for formulation preparation, material characterizations and documentation? allnex invites you to join us as a **Lab Technician in Melaka, Malaysia** to support the Development Chemist with laboratory cooking. In this role, we count on you to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment as well as to help us drive excellence on a daily basis. The goal is to optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carry out alkyd, amino, acrylic, and polyester lab resin cooking.
- Complete and precise documentation of the laboratory resin cooking report (resin analysis, graph, and chart).
- Conduct resin analysis to determine resin compatibility, dilutable, viscosity reduction data, and specific gravity.
- Responsible of the upkeep and proper management of lab cook glassware and instruments.
- Assist with product troubleshooting by performing lab cooking for chemists in order to discover the root cause and make suggestions where possible.
- Assist with QC testing as needed.
- Adherence to excellent Laboratory Techniques, Safe Operation Procedures, and good housekeeping practices in the R&D and Paint Application Labs.
- Assist the Development Chemist with sample preparation and instrument handling (GC, GPC, LC, FTIR, NIR, etc.).

**Required skills and experience**:

- Experience or familiarity working in a laboratory or similar environment.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety measures.
- Proven track record maintaining technical equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to laypersons.
- Attention to detail.

**Qualifications**:

- Professional Certificate or Diploma in Chemistry or a related discipline.
