**About the role**:
Food Technologist plays a critical part in driving product commercialization success. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the R&D laboratory and pilot plant operations, ensuring smooth execution of shelf-life studies, sample preparation for various purposes, and providing technical expertise to facilitate product transition to full-scale manufacturing.

By working collaboratively with scientists, commercialization teams, and customers, you will contribute to the development and launch of innovative food and beverage products that meet market demands and quality standards.

**Key responsibilities**:
1. Laboratory & Pilot Plant Management:

- Oversee daily operations of the R&D lab and pilot plant, ensuring equipment functionality, cleanliness, and optimal utilization.
- Maintain accurate inventory control for raw materials, packaging, finished product samples, and consumables.
- Perform routine housekeeping, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.

2. Product Development & Commercialization Support:

- Coordinate and execute shelf-life stability studies for new and existing products.
- Analyze shelf-life study data, validate results, and communicate findings to R&D scientists and customers.
- Prepare samples for various purposes, including new development projects, customer trials, product approvals, country registrations, returning LTOs, and market presentations.
- Assist the R&D commercialization team with troubleshooting during pilot trials, scale-up processes, and commercial production runs.

3. Sample Management & Logistics:

- Collect and manage relevant R&D samples (shelf-life, analytical, customer) and arrange for secure courier shipments.

4. Additional Tasks & Projects:

- Perform other ad-hoc tasks or projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor to support the needs of the GTIC Support Centre or SG TIC R&D department.

**Qualifications and skills**:

- Minimum bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a laboratory, pilot plant, or food production line environment.
- Prior experience in the food & beverage manufacturing industry with knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and FSSC 22000 standards (preferred).
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision while also effectively collaborating with various teams.
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of samples.
