Trainee - Business Analyst

**BRIEF**

The Business Analyst Trainee will be involved in analysing market trends, evaluating business performance, and identify opportunities for growth and optimization in the re-refining industry. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in data analysis, strategic planning, and decision support within a complex and fast-paced re-refining industry.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Collect and analyze data on key performance indicators (KPIs), including production volumes, sales revenues and gross profit margins to evaluate business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and business cases to support strategic decision-making and investment planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements, define project scopes, and develop solutions to address operational challenges and opportunities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
- Support the implementation of process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and efficiency measures to enhance operational performance and profitability.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and / or training sessions to gain exposure to different aspects of the petrochemical business.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards while conducting analysis and performing duties in a professional manner.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree programme in economics, finance, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and statistical software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts and findings to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Interest in the petrochemical industry and willingness to learn about its processes, products, and markets.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to take on new challenges and contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives.
- Previous internship or work experience in business analysis, consulting, finance, or related fields is a plus.
- Willingness to intern on 5.5 days to support plant operations.

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: RM1,000.00 per month
