Chemist

**Responsibilities**:

- To ensure daily test result is produced accurately and percisely
- To ensure all equipments, apparatus etc in lab are to be appropriatey maintained and calibrated as per the required schedule
- To maintain good housekeeping in the laboratory at all times
- To ensure all the test procedures conducted by testers are comply to the standard methods
- To supervise and ensure competency of the lab tester
- To train, supervise and monitor junior staff with assigned test methods and procedures
- To plan lab testing schedule, review and approve test results, prepare and review test report
- To provide advice or recommendation based on judgment and facts to manufacturing, marketing etc on matters related to testing and quality issue
- To maintain and procure laboratory chemicals and supplies
- To compile and analyze the quality of the raw materials and finished goods
- To ensure the raw materials and finished goods are meet to specification
- To perform experimental testing if required

**Competency Requirements**:

- Education: For Diploma with minimum of 6 Years Working experience in lab or QC operations/ manufacturing/ quality environment. For Degree with minimum of 4 years working experience in a manufacturing/ lab environment, preferably in manufactury industry.
- Experience in ISO 9001 & IS/IEC 17025 Quality System
- Familiar with chemical analytical instrument
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and laboratory information management system.
- Possess knowledge of basic statistics and mathematics (calculus).
- Skilled in database, spreadsheet and word processing.
- Good interpersonal and communication skill.
- Preferably with knowledge of using scientific instrument software and laboratory information management system.
- Preferably with knowledge of using statistical software.
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English and Malay.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation
