**POSITION OVERVIEW**
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team and lead our entire pastry department. In this role, you will wear multiple hats, focusing on Research & Development (R&D) of new and innovative desserts, meticulous production planning, and fostering a skilled and motivated pastry team.
**RESPONSIBITIES**
**Research & Development**:
To develop new and exciting dessert concepts to elevate our menus and keep our offerings fresh and seasonal.
To do research and experiment with new flavour combinations, ingredients, and plating techniques.
To stay current on pastry trends and incorporate them into your creations while maintaining the unique style of our establishment.
**Production Planning & Management**:
To create detailed production schedules to ensure all pastry items are produced on time and in sufficient quantities.
To manage inventory control of baking supplies and ingredients, maintaining proper stock levels to avoid stockouts.
To oversee the daily production of pastries, desserts, and other sweet goods, ensuring quality and consistency.
**Training & Leadership**:
To train and mentor pastry cooks, delegating tasks effectively and providing clear instructions.
To foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the pastry department.
To motivate and inspire your team to achieve high standards for quality and presentation.
To identify and address any skill gaps within the team, recommending and implementing training programs.
**Overall Pastry Department Management**:
To lead the pastry department, ensuring smooth daily operations and efficient workflow.
To develop and maintain high standards for hygiene and safety within the pastry kitchen.
To adhere to all food safety regulations and implement best practices.
To work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and other departments to ensure overall kitchen operations run seamlessly.
**REQUIREMENTS**
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment.
Strong understanding of baking principles, pastry techniques, and various dessert preparations.
A passion for creativity and innovation in dessert development.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and train a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Adherence to strict hygiene and safety standards in a kitchen environment.
Able to communicate well in English & Bahasa Melayu
