Programme Officer

**Duty Station: Ipoh, Perak**

Responsible for supporting the implementation of GEC’s RIVER CARE project in Ipoh, Perak.

**Responsibilities**:

- To support the implementation of GEC’s RIVER CARE project/programme in Ipoh.
- Support the project implementation Kinta River Basin, Perak
- To support/conduct study/activities related to water resource management [water quality, biodiversity, alternative water supply, resource (natural and man-made) management], flood preparedness and stakeholder engagement, community based eco-tourism projects, environmental education and awareness programme
- Support the day to day implement priority activities with Orang Asli, sub-urban and urban community engagement as well community-based key resource and pollution mitigation

**Requirements**:

- Willing to be station in GEC’s Ipoh Office.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in teams.
- Minimum Diploma or equivalent working experience in Environmental or Natural Resource Management. Degree in the environment management and working experience is an advantage.
- Experience on Environmental Management: river basin, Wetland, Erosion Control, Eco tourism, community-based business, Strengthening Connectivity to enhance River Corridors and Riverine Ecosystems as well community engagement including Orang Asli is an advantage.
- Technical knowledge/skill/ experience on GIS, video editing, drone and etc will be an advantage too.
- IT competent in word, spreadsheet, and social media content creation.
- Fluent in English and Malay with good writing and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel and be independent at project site.
- Driving license and own transport is an advantage.
