Koperasi Kakitangan PETRONAS Berhad (KOPETRO) was established on 30th October 1980. Granted with an allocation of RM ten thousand and a team seconded by the PETRONAS Personnel Department, it was tasked to launch and to maintain a cooperative that provides financial aid to its members. KOPETRO has since evolved to be one of the Top 10 Cooperatives amongst more than 13,000 cooperatives in Malaysia. Over the years, it has won many prestigious awards such as the Anugerah Koperasi Negara, Prime Minister’s Quality Award, Outstanding Vendor Award (OVA), Top Insurance Agency Award, MAS/Emirates Achievement Award and Intellectual Property Gold Award. Today, our cooperative is often visited by other local and international cooperatives which want to learn from us about corporate governance.
