**Overview**:
The Toolroom Technician (Toolmaker) is responsible for the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of precision tools, dies, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. This role requires expertise in machining, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work from technical drawings and specifications. The Toolroom Technician will collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure tools are manufactured to the highest quality standards and are available to support production needs.

**Responsibilities**:
**Tool Fabrication**: Manufacture precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to technical drawings and specifications. Utilize a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.

**Maintenance and Repair**:Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of tools and dies to ensure they function correctly and efficiently. Identify and rectify tool wear and damage.

**Quality Assurance**: Inspect finished tools and components to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify accuracy.

**Technical Drawings**: Interpret and work from complex technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models. Collaborate with engineers to resolve any discrepancies or issues.

**Process Improvement**: Suggest and implement improvements to tooling and manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety. Stay updated with the latest toolmaking techniques and technologies.

**Inventory Management**: Maintain an organized inventory of tools, materials, and spare parts. Ensure tools are properly stored and easily accessible.

**Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of tool fabrication, maintenance, and repair activities. Document any modifications or changes made to tools and dies.

**Safety Compliance**: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines. Ensure that all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, and that safety equipment is used properly.

**Training and Support**: Provide training and support to junior technicians and apprentices. Share knowledge and best practices within the team.

**Qualifications**:
SKM or Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school certification in toolmaking, machining, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a toolmaker or toolroom technician in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machine tools. Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and precision measurement techniques.

Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.

High level of attention to detail and precision in all aspects of toolmaking and machining.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tool performance and quality.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with engineering and production personnel.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with CAD/CAM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Relevant certifications in toolmaking, machining, or CNC operation are highly desirable.

Experience in industries such as automotive, medical devices, or precision manufacturing.

Primarily works in a toolroom or manufacturing environment. Exposure to machinery, noise, and other industrial conditions.

Requires standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and performing tasks that involve fine motor skills and precision.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,754.89 - RM4,000.00 per month
