Lecturer

Attend/participate in internal audits and external assessments as required
- Support the management in the procurement of equipment and will monitor equipment performances, reporting any concerns to the line manager. Will undertake calibration/verification and actual maintenance of equipment, including the recording of those activities.
- Perform verifications and process checks on relevant equipment in a timely manner, recording results on dedicated forms, reporting any malfunctions/ exhausted equipment/ samples and ensure equipment is in good operating condition.
- Responsible for ensuring that all Health, Safety & Environmental related procedures are followed and will ensure familiarisation and adherence to the controls in place, including risk & CoSHH assessments being available at point of use. Will ensure that students adhere to the HS&E policy and implemented controls, including the use of PPE, reporting any concerns to the line manager. Will conduct daily pre-lecture inspections reporting any concerns, including concerns raised by students. Has the authority to stop an event if there are concerns over the safety of students.
- Responsible for the upkeep and proficiency of their own competence, including maintenance of renewals and keeping abreast with the latest progress and developments in technology. Through the appraisal process will identify opportunities to continue to improve their competence.
- Inform the Line Manager regarding changes made to the scope of their certifications (new or expired certificates)
- Train new lecturers and staff that requiring support by ensuring the training records/ approval/ appraisal/ confidentiality forms are fully filled in and provided to the Regional Programmes Manager.
- Train new Invigilators that requiring support by ensuring all training records created/ prepared are provided to the Examination Co-ordinator which will then be forwarded to the Chief Examiner.
- Carry out peer assessments of other lecturers as and when requested by the Regional Programmes Manager.
- Will be responsible for assisting with the classroom set-up (if and when required) that may include re-arrangement of the classroom, setting up the projector, distribution of course notes/ hand-outs and stationeries etc, relevant to the programme.
- Responsible for ensuring all Administration documentation is in order (e.g. enrolment forms, eye tests, photographs, exam requests, attendance lists, result notices and approvals).
- Responsible for delivery of the invigilation process, including technical aspects of the exam pack (selection and/or verification of exam papers and samples etc.)
- Responsible for procurement, monitoring condition, performance, maintenance for training & examination samples.
- Responsible for creating, drafting and/or reviewing new training and examination materials, including the security of the material.
- Responsible for the promotion of feedback to students.
- Responsible for managing logístical movements of samples and equipment (working with the logistics department).
- Ensure the continuous development of course material to keep courses up to date with the relevant standards, technology and legislation requirements.
- Develop new initiatives and courses for local and global use. Preparing and delivering training for national and international clients.
- Liaise and work with colleagues locally and globally to ensure service delivery and course content is consistent throughout TWI’s Training and Examination Services.
- Liaise with TWI agents to ensure training material, equipment, quantity, transportation, hotel and documentation is in order/ accountable.
- Liaise with the administration, examination and logístical departments to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Act as a nominated deputy to the regional programmes manager if required.
- Undertake any other duties as required by the line manager.
- Responsible for the security of training & examination materials at the point of use and whilst being transferred.
- Ensure all examination and training procedures are followed.
- Report any actual or potential threat to the security of examination material, confidentiality and/or impartiality.
- Verify that student examination packs are correctly assembled.
- **Job Requirements**_
- Applications must hold or are working towards a relevant qualification as IIW Diploma of International Welding Engineer (IWE) or CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector 3.2
- Well-versed in the English language and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken
- Comprehensive industry experience in welding inspection, NDT Methods, Mechanical Testing, WPS Development, WQT process would be an advantage.
- Able to use computer literate
