Assistant Draughtman

1. Educational Background:

- Minimum education requirement: Diploma or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant coursework in drafting and AutoCAD.

2. Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD software is essential. Experience with the latest versions is a plus.
- Solid understanding of mechanical drawings, symbols, and specifications.
- Ability to create and modify 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of industry standards and practices related to mechanical drafting.

3. Experience:

- Prior experience as a Draughtsman or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level positions.
- Familiarity with drafting principles and practices in a mechanical engineering context.

4. Attention to Detail:

- Strong attention to detail is crucial for accurately interpreting and translating design specifications into detailed drawings.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in drawings.

5. Communication Skills:

- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and other team members.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical requirements and convey them through drawings.

6. Time Management:

- Ability to manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to changing priorities.

7. Problem-Solving:

- Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and provide creative solutions.
- Capacity to work independently and seek assistance when needed.

8. Software Proficiency:

- Apart from AutoCAD, familiarity with other relevant software tools used in the industry would be a plus.
- Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new software tools as needed.

9. Team Collaboration:

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to take direction from senior draughtsmen or engineers.

10. Adaptability:

- Ability to adapt to changes in project requirements or design specifications.
