The Programme Manager is responsible to lead climate resilience projects and implement initiatives from the plan, including collaborating with local council to pursue efficient resource utilisation and providing regular reports on the implementation process.

This position is based in Penang.

Key Accountabilities

Produce project management documentation

Prepare project documentation pertaining scope, budget and schedule.
Prepare design briefs for consultants.
Prepare presentations.
Stakeholder management.
Select and connect with external consultants

Managing projects and younger staff, project associates and interns

Develop project and research briefs for junior staff
Distribute work among junior staff according to their best abilities
Ensure timely delivery of work by junior staff

Coordinate work with other CoPs

Developing projects together other CoPs, articulating timeline and scope of deliverables and budget
Communicating the tasks to the team

Connect with international organisations

Connect with UN-Habitat, EIT-Climate KIC and other international organisations Think City is cooperating with
Actively work to identify new funding, projects and opportunities
Assist where necessary with funding and proposal developments.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in the field of Climate Change/Nature Conservation/ Environmental management/Architecture/Built Environment Knowledge
Excellent project management skills and knowledge of project management tools and software are essential.
Stakeholder Management
Excellent English language knowledge is required, both written and verbal,

Minimum years of experience

5-8 years of work experience
Exposure to community-based or not-for-profit activity and urban regeneration projects

Type of Experience

Solid organisational skills including multi-tasking and attention to detail.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong design skills and knowledge of design software such as Autocad, Photoshop, Sketch-up and Indesign
Excellent project management skills and knowledge of project management tools and software are essential.
Excellent English language knowledge is required, both written and verbal
PMP / PRINCE certification is a plus for this role.
