Job Description:
Inspect, troubleshoot and repair all plant mechanical systems as directed by the maintenance manager.
- Make periodic inspections of plant equipment and report its condition to the supervisor for further evaluation.
- Regularly communicate interdepartmentally on the status of jobs, projected completion time, and the need (if any) for assistance.
- Perform basic equipment rigging with supervision.
- Safely operate powered industrial vehicles.
- Perform basic mechanical maintenance functions and basic mechanical fabrication functions as needed.
- Skills in electrical works will be an added advantage.
- Regularly respond to call-ins (nights, weekends, and holidays) for emergency mechanical equipment repair. This involves a greater-than-usual level of responsibility to bring the problem to resolution either by completing the repair or identifying and communicating with those in a position to do so.
- Act as an mechanical vendor liaison. Coordinate inspection and repair schedules, ensure parts availability, confirm the accuracy of bills of labor and materials, etc.
- Given a specific area the technician should also be aware of replacement part status and notify the maintenance planner/maintenance engineer of problem areas.
- Use of SAP Plant Maintenance module to query for open emergency and planned mechanical maintenance jobs and to accurately and completely document work effort and job status.
- Assist the team with ISO check sheets & documentation filing.
- To assist Maintenance supervisor & Planner with job prioritization, site coordination and execution
- Responsible for carrying out all walk by inspections or specifics inspections (PM2) as per the defined schedule
- To report any abnormal findings back into SAP, execute and technically complete (TECO) in the system.
- To oversee spare parts in his/her area of responsibility and ensure safety stocks are being observed.
