Fully responcible for the set-up of the function room as per the funtion order. - To coordinate with the kitchen prior to dishing out of food. - Give and accurate count of the guests to the Chef before a party starts and always remembers to double check the number of guests. - To ensure that discipline is maintained at all times. - Work closely with his superiors with regard to the correct method of service that has to be carried out. - Ensure that all waiters / waitresses report to work on time and are neatly dressed. - Ensure that tray stands and bar set-ups are properly and tidily set-up. - Ensure condiments are available such as mustard, chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, tabasco sauce and toothpicks. - Check on all the backlanes set-up. - Check that after each function, the room and banqueting area is cleared of equipment. - Check that sound and light equipment is in working order for a function. - Must always attend to and handle customer complaints regardless of how last minute or unimportant the matter may seem to be. - Ensure that utensils are not wrongly used or that any equipment is misused. - Carry out last minute instructions by the Banquet Manager or Asst. Banquet Manager. - Ensure that the next day's job assignment are completely delegated. - Responsible for sign boards to be made for the various function rooms. - Double check that all lights and air-conditioning are switched off and doors of function rooms are locked after each function. - Ensure that all function bills are signed and settled any disputes that may arise from the bills. - Punctual at all times and willing to assumen more responsibilities. He must give adequate notice whenever serious circumstances prevent him from adhering to schedule. - At all times a pleasant and helpful attitude towards guests and fellow employees. - Well-groomed and neatly dressed in the prescribed uniform. - Carry out all side duties given to him by his superiors. - Assist / handle cash for the outlet.
