Interpreting engineering drawings & GD&T requirements performs thorough dimensional inspection and completes inspection checklist provided by the machine shop. The QC Inspector shall be competent to understand and read Engineering drawings and SAP transactions. - Inspector shall be able to contribute toward continues improvement effort such as design fixture/jig, lead time reduction, cost reduction and etc. - Inspector shall be competent to raise NCRs when nonconforming conditions are detected. - Must be capable of using dimensional measuring instruments like thread ring/plug gauges, ball gauges, micrometers, calipers, indicators, profile projectors, and Brinell hardness test equipment as well as CMM equipment. - The dimensional inspector shall be able to work in Receiving inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection areas based on the assignments. - Inspector shall be well versed in understanding functions and usage of all required measuring instruments - Shall be competent in performing calibration and maintaining computer based calibration program. - Inspectors with calibration responsibilities shall be able to generate periodic calibration recall reports to notify users of the gages to submit gages that are due for calibration. - Inspectors performing Hardness testing shall be competent in calibrating the testers and performing proper surface preparation based on the Cameron procedures and/or ASTM methods. - Shall maintain Eye examination requirements at all times. - Inspector shall be able to handle heavy parts using overhead cranes and other lifting equipment safely. - Shall be able to clearly communicate verbally and written. - Shall be able to perform inspection at optimum cycle time with required precision. - When given Receiving Inspection responsibility, Inspector shall work to eliminate backlog from QM lot. - Shall be flexible to rotate from one inspection area to the other per Supervisory assignments. - When part is determined scrap, Inspector shall be able to perform scrap transactions in the SAP system. - Inspector shall be able to communicate with third party inspectors required to review and/or witness inspector activities. - Shall demonstrate professional attitude and work effectively with the other departments. - Interpreting engineering drawings, able to read Engineering drawings and SAP transactions. - Inspector shall be competent to raise NCRs when nonconforming conditions are detected with new codes implementation. - Shall be able to update and revise SAP based NCRs based on Engineering disposition. - Shall maintain forklift driving qualification, if required. - Inspectors shall be able to travel to supplier locations to perform dimensional and visual inspection based on the requirements and assignments. - When given Receiving Inspection responsibility, Inspector shall work to eliminate backlog Final products. - Inspector shall be able to perform paint/coating thickness checks using paint thickness gages as well as able to perform NACE level I and II tests per requirements. - Inspector shall effectively inspect sub-assemblies of the components and final assemblies as final inspection following a pre-defined inspection checklist - Shall be able to produce continuous improvement (CI) - Inspector must be willing or to have own initiative to learn a new skill or competency if necessary - Ensure compliance to all health, safety and environment policies.
